Social Events

CMC2016 includes a variety of social events in a diversity of settings for both registered participants and companions. The following is a preliminary schedule which may change as the conference approaches. All social events, except the pre-conference reception, are included in the Registration Fee for participants. Companions need to purchase the social events package separately.

Sunday Sept. 4, 7pm:  Get together at the Beer House

Monday Sept. 5, evening:  Reception at Tallinn University, followed by  a Night in the Town

Tuesday Sept. 6, evening: Conference Banquet at The Cauldron Hall at the Tallinn Creative Hub

Wednesday Sept. 7, evening: Cruise Ship Light Dinner (on cruise ship)

Thursday Sept. 8, evening: Cruise Ship Dinner (on cruise ship)

Friday Sept. 9, evening: for those who want to socialize, we’ll post a get-together location in Tallinn

 

Excursions

A set of excursions will be available for both participants and companions, covering Tallinn and nearby locations. The main excursion will be ‘Mapping Stockholm” on Thursday, Sept. 8.

City tours by bus: offered by commercial tour companies during the day

Old Town, guided walking tour: Sunday Sept. 4, 2pm (in English)
Meeting point: Nordic Hotel Forum
Duration: 2 hours

Bus Trip to Lahemaa: visit Manors in Lahemaa, Sunday Sept 4, 1pm
Meeting point: Nordic Hotel Forum
Duration: around 6 hours
Includes a 3-course lunch in the local tavern.

Stockholm City tour by Bus, Sept 8, 10.45am (18 euros, pre-registration mandatory)
The buses with CMC signs will wait for you in front of the Stockholm Värtahamnen terminal at 10.45. The tour will last for 3 hours and end in the city center where you will have free time. Participants are expected to make their way back to the ferry on their own. Buses no 1 and 76 take you from the city center to the terminal. The tickets can be bought at the ferry’s information desk (36 SEK).
