Fog
In the Pensacola region, fog is
the most prevalent deterrent to flight operations. Fog can occur during
any month of the year, but it is most likely to occur and most hazardous
during the winter months. It reduces the visibility to less than 1/2 mile
more than 2% of the time from November through April. The greatest
frequency of visibility reduction due to fog is during January, February,
and March, with a maximum of 5.9% visibility reduction in January.
KNPA is affected by frontal fog, advection fog, and radiation fog, all
of which reduce visibility on and around the field. |
