Towering Cumulus

Towering Cumulus is another name for cumulus congestus. Towering cumulus refers to rapidly growing cumulus clouds or an individual dome-shaped cloud whose height exceeds its width. The distinctive domed or cauliflower top often mean showers below, but if it doesn't have the characteristic anvil shape of a cumulonimbus, it is not giving rise to thunderstorms.
