Description

·        Sending TAFs and observations via AFWIN (Air Force Weather Information)  Home Page. 

·        Is a back-up to COMMIDDS, so is done when COMMIDDS is not working.  Takes about 10 minutes.

How often?

·        Is done when COMMIDDS is not working (maybe 3 or 4 times a month), though some do it this way all the time.

·        COMMIDDS versus AFWIN - doesn't matter which is used so long as forecast gets out. 

·        AFWIN is more reliable.

Frequency of reference to the SOP

Since it is a new SOP, the SOP is referred to regularly, but the procedure is self-explanatory and is not too difficult.
