RD-379A(V)/UNH General Description



The RD-379A(V)/UNH is a solid state magnetic tape recorder 

capable of recording 8 channels audio, DAIR FSK, and time 

code signal.



Purpose of the RD-379A(V) UNH is to record  audio and IFF 

Video in support of air traffic control operations. It is 

used aboard ships and naval air stations where records of 

naval flight operations are required to be maintained 

by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).



The system is maintained on regular bases by electronics 

technicians assigned to the air operations department.
